Lessons learnt:

• After rocking the plate do a proof print

• Work gradually for more tones. Build up in stages.

• Soak for longer in warm water.

• Deploy more newsprint to stop messy accidents

• Think about a thicker and more compressed mat

• Get some biscuits for the tea breaks

All in all a productive few short sessions. A break tomorrow and more tutorials. Then start preparing a new/bigger copper plate. Try the drypoint print next. Aim for three or four short sessions a week…
